With respect to crosses, these are probably the best of all the spring-action fly clamps. While the bigger Hi-Quas and their clones tend to squeeze consecutive crosses together, the YY's maintain a far better gap, minimizing later adjustment and possible tension loss. They perform about the same on the mains, so they're better overall.
Possibly the biggest feather in its cap, though, is the sheer size of the thing - it's less than three inches long (the picture doesn't do it justice), and yet doesn't lose out to the bigger boys in terms of grip.
Worth the extra money? Well, YY products are widely acknowledged to be overpriced, but in this case there's no competing clone, so yes, they ARE worth it, especially if you get both/all four at once.
